tomorrow is pick up day and my birthday. I already packed the bags so I only have delivery and shopping in the morning and then can go back to hugging house to puzzle, read and play. Patreesha found me a 1000 piece wonder woman puzzle with glow in the dark emblem. I had a lot of fun with that one since I gain a lot of strength when imagining being like wonder woman. Kira is back at college and I am working on a castle I got from my granddaughter Autumn.

Today I made cheese. The Birdsfooters finally discovered the great taste of Goldie cheese and I can barley keep up making it. I also ordered a new cheese thermometer, some starters and more rennet. All good to go for the next year. Then I packed the bags and went to Hugging House and harvested some snow for the rain barrels. We accidentally let one run empty into the sink a few weeks ago. Not good when that is your water for the winter. Fortunately we have plenty of snow to replenish. It's like a chore every day a few buckets into the house.

When the are in bloom they get to stand on the table as a center piece for full appreciation. Plants are so much fun. Kira took a whole box of house plants to her college room to keep her company. We talk to them, love them. |

As I knew it would happen at some point the high tunnel plastic broke in the cold and wind and ice. It has 4-year guaranteed plastic on it and we had it 7 years probably due to rolling it up in the winter and keeping it out of the weather. I did not get to rolling it up in the fall because I went to Germany in December and was busy to get everything else done before then. The good thing is that it happened now and I ordered a new one and not when there are little tender plants growing in it. The price for plastic went up 100% with delivery, over $900. Steve says good oil products should cost a lot so people do not use so much plastic. He has a point, but I want this one. I might as well replace the hip board lumber that it gets screwed down onto as well as that is punky too. There is an Amish saw mill down the road and we have some time.
