Attached are the new sign up forms for the 2020 CSA, the student CSA and the application for bonus bucks if you need financial help. If you sign up before the middle of the month you can get a $10 discount.
I have been back from Germany for a few weeks now and have fully recovered from the busy so fun visiting schedule. Kira and Steve had the flu for a week and you can not get much done with them in the house.

The cows were so happy when we came to get them from a neighboring farm. Carol mooed loudly and was blinded coming out of the dark barn into the sun and snow. Goldi Locks followed perfectly and they were eating up a storm. Unfortunately Goldi Locks picked up nursing Carol again and I had to find a way to stop that, because at age 10 month she did not need the milk and I wanted it. With Daisy we had put in a nose ring with spikes that would poke the mother if she tried to nurse. It worked, but she was miserable hanging her head down for a few days with snot running down her nose until she was used to a nose ring. I did not want to do that to Goldie and came up with the idea to tie the spiky nose ring to her halter and it worked! I have milk and Goldie is happy.This weekend I went to a workshop by Cooperative Extension for farmers on value added food and regulations.... One workshop was on cash free payments. I thought it was on people bartering, working in the garden in exchange for food or veggies. I later learned it was for payments with pay pal, venmo ...and that one should have at least two payment options beside cash. When I pointed out that I accept checks that was then considered cash, oh well. I guess I am behind the times and not sure if I should catch up. I never ended up doing the face-book thing although we apparently have a page because so many people posted from the dinner in the field two years ago. Anyways my son Seba informed me that all young people have Venmo (at least in Boston) and that he moves money all the time through that. I am not keen on giving 2.9% or more to a non cash company when I could keep it here, but if you have venmo it does not cost. If you have any thoughts, please let me know.
Talking about Seba, he just put out his first EP jazz album, called "Level Up" . I miss having his jazz in the house and listen to it all the time. If you like jazz and want to support your local, now in Boston residing musician go to the link at band camp and buy it or listen to him on spotify. He says: "Its out!!! I spent my days with planning the garden, doing taxes and seeding first lettuce, peppers, tomatoes, onions and celeriac. The house is at a whopping 84degrees and that with 60 degrees outside because we are cooking sap to maple syrup. That should germinate any sleeping seed, high moisture and temperature. The leeks and lettuce already popped up. Spring has begun! I am still looking for summer co-workers if you know anyone who wants to do hard honest fun farm work.
With the warmer weather coming it looks like I might get to do things outside. I hope you get to go outside too.
