there seems to be confusion about last pick up. Today is the last week for the Friday group and Tuesday is the last for that group. I hope you have enjoyed our journey through the vegetable year as much as I did. Such a joy (if I am not thinking of the endless hours of weeding and not ever fully catching up) to indulge in crop after crop. Right now we are full into parsnips, just finished potatoes and are entering fields of carrots. The sunchokes look huge and promising. The celeriac has been small and we are letting it go till the last minute before a hard frost. Winter squash is rare and not available this year due to the cold wet summer. Cabbage got hit by swede midge, because it was the only brassica not covered with the net. We will cover it next year as well
Winter CSA
This year we can offer seven biweekly pick ups on Tuesdays at the Camaanos in Potsdam and the Oeye's in Canton or at the farm. Since we have them we upped the potatoes from 3to 4lbs and the carrots from 1 to 3lbs and the onions from 1 to 2lbs compared to last year.
A two week bag will have:
Basic B-share: 4lbs of potatoes, 3lbs of carrots, 2lbs of onions, 3 garlic, and greens/kale as long as they last for $152 plus $8 delivery fee=$160
Full B-share : 4lbs of potatoes, 3lbs of carrots, 2lbs of onions, 3 garlic, 1lb parsnips, 1/2lb celeriac,1/2lb sunchokes and greens/kale as long as they last for $182 plus $8 delivery fee=$190
Basic A-share will have twice that much for $292 plus $8 delivery=$300
Full A-share will have twice as much as the B-share for $352 plus $8 delivery fee=$360
First Winter-share pick up will be Tuesday, November 5th at 4pm in Canton and 4.30 in Potsdam.
