As for many years now Bob Wagner took over for the week to manage the crew and make sure all plantings happen. Nathaniel who worked for us last year returned for a few weeks t help out and Sarah and Greg are new last week. We barely got the tomatoes in last Friday about two weeks later than usual but they were at a great size and hopefully come on in time and we have the high tunnel tomatoes taking off already.
Today we went to the Truro Farmers Market and bought bread and cheese and greens and Kira is cooking us a yummy dinner. Prices are steep, it was fun hanging out with the farmers. One gave me red veined sorrel a sour perennial green for the lettuce mix. Interesting, but I am not sure if we would want it in our mix. Always good to learn new things.
I am going back to vacation now, dinner is ready, see you next week, the farmers market is on this week already.
