what a nice gentle rain this week, although I was glad to get out of the wet clothes last evening.
Next week the CSA starts and if you have not signed up, please do so we can plan ahead. We have an open farm talk and walk on Saturday 4pm at the farm for new and old interested people, showing the fields and explaining the CSA. If you want to see the plantings or have friends who would , please come on out.
We are very busy getting all the transplants in, some of the ground is very grassy and takes a lot of work, but is so satisfying to see a nice field after a days work ready to go. We planted tomatoes, peppers, basil and winter squash and I am hoping to get the cucumbers and summer squash in as well. I will try to plant them into a gorgeous clover bed only digging where the plants go. No tillage, no work.
The peas are flowering, the high-tunnel tomatoes are flowering the potatoes and parsnips are up, everything is lush. Probably in 4 days the weeds will be flush too after the rain.
Peace, Dulli
