A sunny weekend and women's world cup soccer, friends from far away visiting and making cheese. A good weekend, I am ready for another week of gardening. I have been somewhat slowed down what seems to be Lyme disease. At 80% I can sustain a workday , but no extra. Luckily we have the wonderful crew making it happen.

Two weeks ago I went for five days party to my nephew's wedding in Germany and it was so nice to be celebrating with everybody. We filled the little official getting married room in the city hall of Schenefeld, Germany with 50 people standing everywhere, even behind the official. Afterwards we had champagne in the park and threw rose pedals on the couple. Then onto a special cafe where we ate tort and had coffee or hot chocolate for a few hours and then on to my sisters house where we partied and ate late into the night. The next four days we still met at the house with many friends who stayed on to celebrate on and I got to meet a lot of my nephew's friends and made new friends.
After 4 days back on the plane via Reykjavik, Island to Montreal. I saw glaciers and so many icebergs swimming down the Labrador sea. A beautiful sight, but also scary thinking of global warming. Seeing them swim in a row made me think more.....
Coming back we had to pick for market and the first CSA and plant more seedlings and then I got sick again. I am on three weeks of antibiotics and feel better.

On Wednesday the haylage finally came for mulching the zucchinis, cukes, broccoli, cabbages and tomatoes and peppers. The bales were so far gone that one fell into the main path and could not be picked up by the tractor spear. And we had a tiny house on wheels planned to come the next morning through there before the rain. (rain again). So on Thursday morning two of us forked a 1000lb bale onto the wood wagon to get it to the tomato field and out of the way while the rest of the crew harvested greens. I still wanted to mow a wider path for the truck to deliver the house in the orchard and as it started raining, got the mowing done just in time. The house was delivered in the pouring rain and got there and the truck back out, very exciting. We were all soaked and called it a day after harvest at lunch.
This week we will pick the first garlic scapes and see under the netting if the garlic needs any weeding before harvest in July. We also need to get the winter carrots in and more beans and potatoes planted . Where does soccer fit into that? And Tuesday our son Seba is coming for four days to play and record music. They are planning to take over the school to do their creative practicing.
The cows are doing fine. Felix is always right there to be brushed or at least scratched between the horns. Goldilocks was taking all the milk at only three weeks old. We put her in a pen from noon till 6pm and get 2 gallons/day for us, she gets the other 6gallons or so.

The peas are flowering and setting fruit, not quiet ready tomorrow. And I counted 52 zucchini flowers, get ready they are coming soon.
