finally got the numbers figured out and we can start the winter CSA this coming Friday, November 6th.
Pick up is Fridays:
In Canton at 4pm at the Oey household address: 7 Pleasant St., tel. 386-1518
In Potsdam at 4.30pm at the Camano’s house, address: 22 Waverly St, tel. 2651050
At the farm 386 4852 after 4pm,
Please call me or them if you can’t make a pick up. If it is cold, your bag will be inside the house. Please be considerate to pick up at a timely manner, since the hosts hold your veggies inside their houses.
Veggies not picked up within 24hrs will be donated to the food pantry if not arranged differently ahead of time.

I am enjoying this fall. The temperatures are relatively mild and except for the wind last week digging has been a pleasure. The cows are still across the street at Jeff's farm. I am working on the Birdsfoot cow/bear fence and getting their barn set up. We are getting solar panels put on the barn roof next week and I did not want the cows or the solar workers get upset about each other. Carol was really freaked out 1 1/2 years ago when Sal worked on the greenhouse roof next to her barn. She snorted and dug her front hoof into the ground. Fortunately he did not fall off the roof. We are very excited to go solar for the whole farm So far only the back houses were off the grid. (The main house will be grid-tied).
Today was Steve's and my cook day and we made potatoes, kale, brown beans, coleslaw and apple crisp. I also made cheese and bread. Kate, Christoff , baby Milo and grandparents are making the Main house very alive. It is a lot of fun to have a baby i the house again. Kira is 13 and becoming a young woman. And Seba and Brigid are off to college.
We are still getting tomatoes and peppers from the harvested boxes in the living room. Every few days I go through the boxes and pull out the red ones.
I am lucky that the Birdsfooters are all foodists and don't mind the pile of boxes in the living room.
We have soooo many hot, hot peppers. If any of you would like some for drying, pickling or who knows what, please let me know, you can have some.
