Snow hit early this year , a week ago and did not seem to go away anymore at first. Now I am back at digging sunchokes and cleaning up the many irrigation lines and tunnels in the gardens. We made it through the windstorm three weeks ago, had to secure the high-tunnel which had one loose side at the bottom and release the caterpillar tunnel to not fly away. All very exciting and dramatic. We harvested all the last beets, cabbages, kale and broccoli, planted 9000 garlic in time for the cold.
I took a week off from outside farming, thinking I would go back to it soon. We visited colleges with Kira who is a senior at Little River Community School. Where has the time gone? She was a little girl and now she is a young wonderful woman.
