the winter transplants are 90 % planted. It is always double duty to get the regular seedlings in like spinach, carrots, peas and then to plant all the hundreds or thousands of transplants that were nursed along since February and March. I am proudly overlooking the fields , clean (until the weeds hit)filled with neat rows of tomatoes, peppers, hot peppers, celeriac, basil and onions. The work crew is all here now and consists of Ace, Robert, Lexi, Elise and Chris. They have done wonders in preparing the beds, planting, weeding and trellising as needed. The energy is high, we are all eager to get it done.
And tomorrow we will be for the first time at the Canton market. We will have Mixed Salad Greens, lettuce, mint, a little rhubarb and garlic scallions.
And on Wednesday I am flying to Germany for five days to go to my nephews wedding.
And next week the CSA starts, you can see where I am going with this? Yes, If you have not send in your application and want to be in this season it would be really good to know, because I get back next Monday night and you will get your first box of goodies on Tuesday.
I hope your spring is fulfilling too. The professors of you should be on relaxing mode. Little River School is all done for the year and Steve has time for the endless string of projects and it is nice to wake up with him in bed. He feels sorry for the little plants out in the cold rain.
Got to make cheese, see you soon
