fall is here and it is still so warm. We got hit with late blight three weeks ago and are losing tomatoes and potatoes. I picked 600 lb of tomatoes but most are not good in storage. The high-tunnel tomatoes are protected from the rain and are still good. I can pick them down for another 200-300lb. Some of the potatoes were planted late and could use more time. We have been harvesting as much as we can besides the busy market harvest days. I will try to get out the last three rows of 12 rows today. The Little River School kids are coming and some SLU students have class with me here. If we get them out before the rain they will not rot. I am glad the rains held off for three weeks.
I also planted last greens late thinking they would be sitting in the cold waiting to be harvested. With the warm weather they kept growing and growing and now I have 100lb sitting in the fields. I have been donating to the Neighborhood Center in Canton. Do you want more, bigger bags?
The Summer- CSA got the full value as of this week and next week is the last week and extra for you as we had a bountiful year. If you have any feed back on how it went for you if there are things you would like more of or less of I am appreciative of learning from you.
With that said it is time to sign up for the fall CSA that goes from October17/20 till December 15th. After market is done in October the delivery will be on Fridays for Canton and Potsdam. The Link to FALL CSA SIGN-UP FORM
